Today, I’m sharing how I styled my black saree along with a few simple tips and hacks that made all the difference. I received so many compliments on this look, and I can’t wait to show you how easily you can recreate it too.

STYLING A BLACK SAREE

OUTFIT DETAILS:The black saree that earned me so many compliments was a Baha piece, originally crafted in West Bengal. It’s a cotton‑mix handloom saree that cost me around ₹1000, with a plain black body and a subtle golden border that adds just the right touch of elegance. I styled it with a handmade net‑fabric blouse and a black cotton petticoat, creating a look that felt classic, comfortable, and effortlessly striking.

JEWELLERY:When it came to jewellery, I wanted the attention to fall on just one statement piece—and for this look, it had to be my earrings. I styled my black saree with bold golden jhumkas and kept everything else minimal. I wore golden bangles on my right hand and a delicate small‑dial gold watch on my left, keeping my neck bare to maintain a clean, balanced look.

For rings, I chose one statement stone ring on one hand and a traditional gold ring on the other, adding just the right amount of detail without overpowering the outfit.The overall look created a perfect blend of modern charm and traditional grace.

MAKEUP:
BASE MAKEUP:Makeup plays an important role in completing the whole look, so I kept mine minimal and wearable for almost any occasion. I prepped my skin with Ponds Super Light Gel moisturizer, then applied a small amount of Maybelline Fit Me foundation using a damp beauty blender. I mixed two shades—230 Natural Buff and 128 Warm Nude—and this combo matches my skin tone perfectly.I applied a little bit of Maybelline Fit Me concealer in the shade 25 Medium on my upper eyelids, then set both my foundation and concealer with the Maybelline Fit Me Loose Powder in shade 15 Light.

EYE MAKEUP:For the eye look, I used the Wet n Wild Rose in the Air eyeshadow palette. I started with the brown shade and blended it with the rust‑orange shade to create soft, warm brown eyes. To add a touch of sparkle, I pressed a hint of golden shimmer onto the center of my lids.For the liner, I created a thin wing using Lakme eyeliner.

I completed the eye look with Maybelline Lash Sensational Full Fan Waterproof Mascara on both my upper and lower lashes to achieve an elongated, fluttery effect. Finally, I added a pop of Makeup Revolution highlighter to the inner corners of my eyes to make them appear brighter and bigger.To fill in my brows, I used a mix of black and cool‑toned brown eyeshadow to create a soft, defined look that wasn’t too harsh and matched my overall makeup perfectly.

LIP & CHEEK:Lipstick is always my favourite part of makeup, and for this look, I wanted something that balanced both traditional charm and modern style. That’s why I chose a rusty orange shade from Maybelline it sits perfectly between bold and nude. So many people asked me about the lip shade, and it’s the Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick in Chilli Nude—a perfect warm rusty orange that costs under ₹300. It complements black outfits beautifully and adds just the right pop of colour without overpowering the look.To give my cheeks a soft, natural flush, I used a coral blush from Maybelline.

HAIRSTYLE:I didn’t want to overdo my hair, so I kept it simple and left it open. It added a soft, effortless touch to the whole look and balanced perfectly with the bold black saree and statement earrings.

FOOTWEAR:I styled the black saree with golden heels to add a touch of sophistication and elevate the entire look

2.How could I ignore my hands? A clean, classic red manicure instantly draws attention and pairs beautifully with a saree. I’m wearing L’Oréal 550 Rouge Sauvage — the perfect bold red.
